In the Far North, there are fewer and fewer places where no man has gone before, but there are still territories that have preserved their original appearance and purity. This is largely due to the inaccessibility of these places. One of these places is the Kara River, located in the Arctic zone, flowing along the border of the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts and the Komi Republic. The river is formed on the northwestern slopes of the Polar Urals at the confluence of the Bolshaya Kara and Malaya Kara rivers. It flows mainly in the northwest direction along the Pay-Khoy Ridge, cutting through several canyons in the rocks, including the famous Belomramorny Canyon, and forming rapids and waterfalls, the most famous of which is Buredan.
Anyone who dares to fish in the Arctic can be sure that they are up for not only amazing fishing but also for a lot of vivid impressions. The country of lakes and mountain rivers abounds in trophy specimens of arctic char, grayling, and pike. If you choose to go on a fishing tour to these wild places, you can be absolutely sure that you will experience not only the pleasure of the fishing process but also the pride in the catch.
Accommodation in tents overlooking the Ochenyrd mountain range practically along the entire route, and the wide-open spaces of the Bolshezemelskaya Tundra will make sure you are as close to nature as possible. This will give you an opportunity to be alone with your thoughts, sitting by the fire, tasting fish freshly caught with your own hands, enjoying the clean northern air—every fisherman can only dream of such a vacation. This is exactly what fishermen are looking for when choosing the North of Russia and what we focus on when organising fishing tours.
Here you can meet the indigenous people of the tundra, get to know their culture and way of life, and even visit their reindeer skin tent, chum, at their invitation. One cannot resist the attractiveness of the Arctic. Those who have come here at least once will definitely come back!
